Prayer

May all beings be happy and peaceful
may they be safe and develop the mind of loving kindness
may they overcome hate and fear and dwell in equanimity

Rachael,

I just found your blog. I have been searching for "Jewish Blogs" for a while, hoping to find one that I could relate to.

I was born Jewish and converted to Christianity when I was 18. I grew up in a secular home and knew nothing about being Jewish.

Just this last year, I joined Partners in Torah and have been re-discovering my Jewish heritage. I am enjoying every minute of it. In fact, my heart gets sad when I think that I never knew what precious gift I always had in front of me.

I read on your blog that you were a Christian and converted to Judaism. I have been feeling like there is no one who quite understands my angst over possibly giving up my Christian faith, in favor for my Jewish one.

If you don't mind me asking, was it hard for you to give up your Christian beliefs?

Thank you so much for your time.

Shalom!

Melissa
